Welcome to Black Lipstick.

The internet boudoir of off-center beauty, literature and culture. Since 2023.

+ Not your grandma’s book reviews

Why get a paid subscription?

Your contribution directly supports incarcerated writers. On average, women and queer incarcerated writers get fewer opportunities to publish, and earn less for their work than their cis male counterparts (if they get paid at all—many incarcerated writers do not). Black Lipstick is committed to creating and maintaining a protected space for all incarcerated writers, and compensating them fairly.
